Social Media Marketing - 7 Friendship Habits to Use For Social Media Marketing

Expert Author Carla McNeil

When it comes to social media being someone's friend is important. Now I don't mean a die hard, talk to daily, tell all my secrets to type of friend. I mean knowing how to be a friend, be supportive and helpful, to treat people how you would like to be treated.

Here are 7 behaviors to keep in mind during your Social Media Marketing journey...

Support your followers, friends and connections. It can be so very quick and easy to simply let people know that you are there, you are watching. With Facebook it is as easy as clicking the "Like" button. With Twitter you can quickly reply or even re-tweet.

Speak constructively, unwarranted compliments can be perceived as being phony. Learn how to tell people what needs improvement nicely. Yes this is possible.

Be a little unpredictable, keep people on their toes, keep them guessing. When you can incorporate that little bit of unpredictability you keep yourself from being boring.

Use the K.I.S.S. principle, "Keep It Simple Stupid". When people attempt to complicate things unnecessarily it just makes them look stupid. Some of the best writers and speakers out there are the ones that can take a complicated concept and make it simple

We all like to have fun, you know the phrase...

All work make Jack a dull boy

Don't be a social media "Jack".

A positive attitude can go a long way. When you are out and about notice how people want to be around the people who are positive, it simply makes them feel better. How do you make people feel when you interact them?

Who does not like a party? Celebrate with your friends and followers on social media, take a look at the comments and suggestions that are on peoples profiles, you will find that people love to get in and celebrate with each other. A great goal to set for yourself is to find at least one person per day to celebrate with. Even if all it is is a comment of "Congratulations" on their profile. It goes a long way.

BONUS TIP

Be sure to include the personal, social media marketing is just that Social! Be sure to make personal observations about others, "great picture", "you always make such great comments" be as specific as you can. Yes this will mean you have to read what others write and post. Invest a few minutes to actually get to know someone a little bit.
