Will the Internet naturally establish social networking standards, should it, or has it already?
What many online marketing kings will tell you is that "The money is in the list." This means that the bigger the list of leads, clients, or contacts you can create; the more potential income opportunities you will have. The fact that this has been a factor for success in any business; many entrepreneurs set out to purchase leads, setup lead capture pages, exchange contact lists, or scan the web. This "list" in current times is sometimes not seen as list at all, but an advertising ring.
These Social Networking sites will essentially represent your ideas, service, or product with or without your action required(posting or submitting data). Establishing a foundation where your business site, blog, or data should go is a bit of a challenge. First you must establish what you are, (a business site, blog, MLM lead capturing scam page, GRQ page, host, forum, data sharing site etc) then you can proceed in searching for other sites that accept, attract, or invite what you are (think high school cliques). Some social networking sites may not seem the same as your site but may gladly invite your Internet presence with their site because of the exchange value. The most valued substance to Google or to anyone in the virtual world of the web is mostly fresh new content or Ideas. Be aware, with new content being a highly valued thing to search engines, it has also become extremely valued to thieves seeking to republish your work for site traffic.
Social networks' ideal purpose would be to exchange the value of new information (links, articles, ads, or media) for that of the same or Revenue that you may reach your targeted audience.
With newly added Social networks to the Internet each and every day, knowing where to relevantly and safely establishing your presence is up to you. Going with what is popular and becoming the sheep doesn't always guarantee success (usually the sheep in front will).
The Internet loves a Niche. If you display new ideas, a new design, a new service, and a new product; expect to be #1, but if you fail to remain fresh with new updates, designs, blogs, or other content, your site will lose presence.
Having a social bookmarking option for your site's new content (like the one after this blog post) will help in spreading your new content across hundreds of social networks. You can also choose more specific bookmarks to match you sites purpose.
Currently the more popular social sites are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and MySpace. Those are all widely used to publish digital information, but it could all change in just a few short years. Google's services could easily replace them all.
