Though sleeping sideways is considered to bring a great amount of relief to people who snore, you still cannot reverse age - as aging has a direct impact on snoring. Even if you change the way you sleep, with age, you would continue to snore, no matter what you do. While changing sleeping postures offer temporary relief, you need to have more permanent solutions if you want to cure snoring.
One of the trusted natural ways to stop snoring is to lose weight. People, who are heavy, usually have bulky necks, which obstruct the air passages when they sleep. So weight loss might be one way to reduce snoring. Also, when you have put on a great deal of weight, it takes more energy for your body to get air out of your body. Therefore, you may snore even louder.
Smoking and alcohol consumption are known to aggravate snoring. While tobacco inhalation changes the cells of inner lining of the esophagus, resulting in choking, alcohol relaxes the throat muscles rendering them uncontrollable. As is evident, both these lifestyle choices promote snoring.
When you fix a sleeping pattern it means that you go to sleep more or less at the same time every night. Of course this does not cure snoring but goes a long way in reducing the volume of your snoring, which gradually becomes an occasional grunt. Naturally when you get a good nights' sleep, you are in better health. Also, the infrequent grunts allow you to have a restful sleep at night.
