Small Business Marketing Using a Green Rabbit's Foot

Expert Author Wesley B Murph

The other day I was in a bookstore when something hit me.

I realized the book I was reading contained a goldmine of ideas for getting new customers.

Why?

Because the book was loaded with tons and tons of stories about how unusual "things" got started. For example: Do you know the story about why a black cat is considered unlucky? Or what about the reason why it is considered bad luck to walk under a ladder? Or how about the meaning of Valentine's Day?

But what's this got to do with adding new customers to your small business?

Everything.

You see, stories are the backbone of selling.

In fact, a good story is way more powerful in persuading someone to buy from you because stories hit that part of your prospect's brain where logical thinking does not take place. And anytime you can get away from logical thinking... and tap into emotional feelings... the better chance you have of making the sale.

And a killer story will help you do this.

So anyways...

As I was reading through this book (which is one of the best in my vast marketing collection) I stumbled across the meaning of a rabbit's foot. And truth be told, I never knew why a rabbit's foot was considered lucky in the first place. So naturally this book sucked me into the two-page narrative on the meaning, and reasons behind, a lucky rabbit's foot.

And so, I went out and bought a few rabbit's feet key chains at my local supply store.

And I used them as a grabber to go with a knock-out sales letter.

And in my sales letter I told the story about how a rabbit's foot became lucky.

I then cleverly tied my grabber (the actual rabbit's foot) to this story... and... I used this whole thing to persuade my reader to do what I wanted him to do.

Did it work?

You better believe it did.

In fact, this sales letter pulled a whopping response beyond my wildest dreams.

And it all started with that little book about kooky stories including the story behind a lucky rabbit's foot.

So how can you use something like this?

In a million different ways.

The key being to tie a captivating story to a persuasive sales position, and chances are you'll have yourself a very powerful selling tool for attracting more new customers into your business than you can handle.

And one last thing:

If you are serious about growing your business, then more than likely all you need is a few more good ideas like the one in this article.

So ask yourself this:

Where can you turn for more good ideas like what you just read in this article?

In my humble opinion, you have to be careful where you look for good ideas because just about everybody and their brother claims to be a so-called 'business expert'.

Remember:

Saying is one thing.

Doing is another.

And most of these "talking heads" have never run their own successful small business.
