Are you wondering what to do with a Skunk Sprayed Dog? If your dog has been sprayed by a skunk, there are some things that you should do first to make sure that your dog is safe.

When you first find out that your dog has been sprayed, you will need to move him to a secure area. Do not move your dog into the house. A dog will try to rub the smell off onto anything he can find. Once the skunk smell gets into your house, it is hard to remove. Try to keep the dog outside.

Immediately inspect your dog for bites and scratches. Although not every skunk carries rabies, they are known rabies carriers.

While you are checking your skunk sprayed dog, you will need to pay attention to where he has been sprayed. If your dog has been sprayed in the face, particularly the eyes or mouth, you will need to call your vet immediately. If your vet is not available, call the pet emergency to find out if you should bring your dog in. A dog that has been sprayed in the face and mouth can experience anything from temporary blindness to kidney failure down the road if he is not treated properly.

Some of the signs that your dog has been sprayed in the mouth and may need to to see the vet are vomiting, disorientation, and diarrhea.

When dealing with a skunk sprayed dog you may feel that the smell is the most important thing to take care. It is definitely important, but it is recommended to ensure the dog's safety first.
