Since inception, the Christian rehab centers have laid a lot of emphasis on making sure that they not only help the drug addicts get rid of their addiction problem but also help them to find a new meaning for their life. With this objective in mind, the treatment programs have been developed in a way such that it becomes easier for the recovering drug addicts to ward of negative emotions and concentrate on productive things in life. For this, the administrators devote extra attention on catering to the individual needs of the patients.

Throughout the treatment procedure, the patients are introduced to a socially and psychologically productive world. They are told about various ways in which they can contribute to the society and deviate their attention from the ills of drug addiction. They are first introduced to an ambience which compliments the mood of the treatment procedure that they are going to receive. Following this, it is ensured that the patients are physically as well as actively involved in mentally stimulating activities.

After getting admitted, a recovering addict is first helped with his daily routine at the Christian drug rehab center. Generally speaking, the normal daily routine of a recovering addict receiving treatment comprises daily reading of the Holy Bible, regular Church attendance and prayer. These activities along with the counseling sessions and religious classes form the most important part of a recovering addict's schedule at the faith based drug rehab center. However, these centers also pay equal attention on including socially useful activities in the routine of the patients.

Recovering addicts at a Christian drug rehab program are offered various options in the recreational activities to choose from. They may take part in activities such as gardening, pottery, carpentry or cooking. In addition, they may want to learn a new art such as glass painting, interior decoration or jewelry designing. By learning these art forms the recovering drug addicts benefit in a number of ways. Some of the advantages of going for learning these skills are as follows:

• Warding off negative emotions and influences

Drug addiction like any other form of addiction is basically a psychological problem that can be dealt with only through psychological measures. Psychologists and behavior experts firmly believe that the problem cannot be tackled unless the patient is treated in an ambience which is conducive for overall personality development. For this, it is widely believed that the patient should be encouraged to participate in activities that can enhance his creativity and social skills. Learning a new art form at a faith based program helps in achieving this goal to a large extent. Therefore, it is always advisable for the recovering addict to opt for a skill while receiving treatment at the faith based drug rehab center.

• Learning a new skill at a low price

Although an ex addict can easily enroll at any training center to learn a new skill or at form such as pottery and carpentry, it has to be remembered that the cost can leave a hole in the pocket of the ex addict. However, by going for a new skill at a faith based drug rehab center it becomes easier for the recovering addict to master in a new art form quite conveniently. This is mainly because learning a new art while getting treated at a Christian rehab is a cost effective option.

• Getting appreciated for a work

It is extremely gratifying as well as satisfying to get appreciated for a work the recovering addict or alcoholic. Some of the treatment programs even organize exhibitions and small fairs to display the works of art created by the recovering addicts admitted at their centers. This instills a new spirit of confidence in the patient enabling him to respond to the treatment in an effective manner.

• For a better future after recovery

In present times, job loss, unemployment, pink slips and lay offs have become indeed quite common. Due to the recessionary pressures, it has become quite difficult to get a good job and hold onto it for a longer time. However, by learning a new skill such as interior decoration and knitting, the recovering addicts can ensure that they continue earning even after they are released from the Christian drug treatment center. Therefore, learning anew skill at the Christian rehab makes all practical sense.

Before you make a decision on getting substance abuse treatment, be sure to check out a Christian Rehab Center and ask them questions so you may make an informed decision on which place is right for you. At a Christian Rehab you will not only learn about the disease of addiction and alcoholism and how to overcome addiction, you will also learn about God and the loving relationship He desires to have with you.
