Are you one of those people who simply dread having to write articles or papers? Does it all feel a little bit like too much work? I mean, what is the point when no one seems to want to read the stuff anyway. That is exactly how I felt until I discovered these handy tips.
Let me tell you, your articles will be read providing they are interesting and original. Well written articles are a great way to impart your message or information to your customers or service users. Let's be frank. If your article is read it is not a waste of time or effort.
The truth is the article has first to be written if you want someone to read it. It's simply a case of making it good. Now that is not as difficult as it sounds providing you follow a few rules and guidelines. Some of these you will know and just need a little reminder, some may be new. Either way it is not important because once you get the hang of a how to do it you will find it to be a fun as well as a profitable way for you and your business to get noticed.
To make sure your articles get read here are 6 fantastic hot tips to help make your articles enjoyable and interesting and most importantly, read!
- Starting right at the beginning. Pick a subject you know something about and you are interested in. This will not be hard for you to write about as it is something that you already have knowledge of and passion about. This will come across in your article. People enjoy reading about something that is written well and with personal passion.
- Give your article a good title or header to attract attention. If you can get someone interested in your title you are more than halfway there to get them to read your article.Try to use the keywords someone is likely to search for that subject. Make your title describe what your article is about. Keep it short and concise.
- People like lists so a title like "5 ways to get her back" may prove to be effective or a command type title has also proven to be effective such as "win her back with these 5 easy steps". These tend to appeal to a person's emotions and make them curious for more information.
- Use short paragraphs. The problem with big blocks of words is that they can appear confusing and a bit overwhelming. Keep yours to nice tidy little blocks so that they are easy to read and visually scan. Your reader will appreciate this and be more inclined to read the article. Failure to do this will mean that your reader will lose interest and look for another article that appears easier to absorb. Paragraphs can be really short and sometimes just a word on it's own.
- Use metaphors or personal experiences within your articles. Readers love a story so a good metaphor can go a long way to getting your message across. Readers like to connect with the author. What better way of doing this than sharing a personal story or experience. When I first started to write articles I would go into great detail about the technical points I wanted to make and why it was useful. I found through experience that a simple story got the point across so much more clearly because the reader got the bigger picture which related to the point being explained.
- Make your article stand out using bullet points or numbers. You can also make use of Sub- headings to further subdivide your paragraphs. These Sub-headings or bullets can incorporate statements of fact or statistical information giving your article authority. If you start each tip with a bullet then your reader will have a clear understanding of where each tip starts and ends. Remember the idea is to make it easy for your reader to absorb your message. You need the article to stand out and grab the attention of your reader. Using bullets and Sub headings allows you to give your article a unique feel.
One bonus tip we teach at TPC internet marketing relates back to the title. Most people spend about 99% of the time on the main body of the article and the rest on the title. As the title is the first thing that is going to attract interest I suggest you spend 80% of your time on the body and 20% on the title.
The most successful articles in terms of number of hits seem to share some commonalities. They are not too formal, they have an easy flow about them like a teacher talking to a keen student. Finally, they offer value in terms of their content.
