Six Sigma Certification - eLearning Vs Hands On Training
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

The internet has made many things much more accessible than they ever were before. This includes such processes like shopping, meeting new people, and even learning. The hottest business management practice isn't absent from this newfound world of possibilities, either. There are plenty of places that offer Six Sigma Certification through online courses and e-learning webinars that are much more accessible for busy professionals. Since these busy professionals are the candidates usually seeking this training, it's no wonder it's available online so readily. They have busy lives, and deserve to get the Six Sigma Training that they want on their own time.

The only problem that stems from e-learning is the lack of hands-on and tactical approaches to Six Sigma as a problem solving tool. Without the firsthand experience, many people are not able to actually process and remember all of the information that deals with Six Sigma Projects. Simply hearing a lecture or reading a book is not enough to convince your brain to hold on to any information for an extended time, much less something as complex as the Six Sigma Process. While e-learning may have its own benefits, it might be wise for those with less proper training and hands-on experience to get it instead of taking online courses.

For those Six Sigma Training students who are higher up in the knowledge of the process, online learning for higher levels of training or continuing education is a great way to get the education that they need. Sometimes though, even these people need a little hands-on help from time to time. This isn't to say that you shouldn't take online courses, because they can offer a great advantage to you. However, it is a point that you should consider gaining some experience as well so that you are able to get the most out of your training and you don't forget everything that you worked so hard to learn before you get a chance to apply it.

Many people simply don't have the time for traditional classes, so they stick with the online format which allows them a lot of freedom in when they can learn or study in regards to Six Sigma Training. However, by limiting the chance of actual experience, it can also hinder the process for some who have not been involved in much practical application of Six Sigma before. On the job experience can be a fine substitute for training hands-on, so don't think your hard work hasn't been worth it.
