Simple Ways to Get a Good Office Workout

Expert Author Baolin Liu

Being at your desk for long periods of time can have detrimental effects on you and your body. You can have a sore back, stiff neck, tightening joints and various other problems as well. Having a mini office workout routine as part of your day can definitely change that for you.

With all the heath problems that arose from people statically being in chairs all day, we have realized that us as human beings were meant to be dynamically moving. Being in a chair all day cuts off the circulation to your lower body, so it is important to getting the blood flowing occasionally. Simple office exercises can do that for you easily. It will only take you minutes a day, but the impact on you will changes things for you dramatically.

Here are some moves for you to get your blood pumping and make you feel more energetic.

1. Marching in place: It is pretty easy to do. Just stand up out of your chair and start moving your feet in place. You can even keep a count too, like 1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-8. If you feel like taking things up a notch, you can start using the stairs and take every other step. Many of us probably avoids the stairs, but it can be a great asset for your fitness in lieu of the stairs. It will definitely get your blood pumping afterwards.

2. Imaginary Jump Roping: Pretend you have a jump rope in your hands and make little jumps in the air. You can even alternate you feet too and do some fancy footwork. Even the little arms movements that you make when jumping rope will work your arms out.

3. Jumping Jacks: Do your jumping jacks fast for a full minute. You'll be surprised how much harder it is that it sounds. If you start to breathe a little harder, then you know your blood is pumping through your body.

Doing exercises like the ones I mentioned above will definitely help with the negative side affects of being in a desk all day.
