Simple But Effective Ways in Dealing With Jealousy in a Relationship

Jealousy is one of the most common causes of misunderstandings in a relationship. It is normal but up to a certain point only. Sometimes it becomes the reason why the relationship becomes crippled in being the best it can be. Letting jealousy destroy every aspect and interaction in your relationship is not healthy. So what do you do in dealing with jealousy in a relationship?

As they always say, there's a reason why you get jealous. Try to analyze why, you may want to look back over past times when you had a concrete reason to be jealous. Is it because your partner is flirty? Did you read some messages in his cell phone that are not really friendly? Is your partner still communicating with an ex? Whatever reasons you have for being jealous, you and your partner need to sit down and talk. Be honest about the whole situation and tell him or her that you are uncomfortable when he or she does something out of the usual.

When dealing with jealousy in a relationship, it's important not to jump into conclusions right away. If you do not have some concrete proof to back up your jealousy then maybe it's just right for you to stop speculating. There's no reason why you want to be upset all the time just because of suspicions. Do not be over controlling, needy and invasive. Don't drive yourself nuts in trying to hack his Facebook account nor keep checking on his cell phone!

If on the other hand your partner is the one who's always jealous and not you, think of some ways on how you can reassure him or her of your love. The most effective way in dealing with jealousy in a relationship is to keep the communication lines open. Honesty and trust are crucial in the success of any relationship. Make your partner feel secure and see where he or she is coming from.
