Set Up the Sharp LC22DV27UT in Just the Right Place Around the House

Expert Author Joseph Clayton

The Sharp LC22DV27UT is a great little TV to set up around the house, but don't just put it anywhere. Think about whether or not a television in that room will help or hinder your life.

Your bedroom: This may or may not be a good place to set it up. Your partner might be the kind of person that likes to fall asleep watching TV and you're the opposite. Perhaps just find it ruins your day to hear Fox News first thing in the morning. There are, of course, other times in which having the means to watch something in the bedroom might have definite rewards.

Kids bedroom: If you want your children to grow up questioning the world around them and finding their own answers, don't give them unlimited access to television. It certainly won't be a very big punishment to send them there if they have a TV in it. Only if you know they would only want to watch it some of the time would it be a good idea to put a TV in a child's room.

Kitchen: It seems like it would be a good idea, but it's actually not. Doing mundane kitchen work can be a time of contemplation and reflection, rather than just another time to watch TV. You can't think for yourself if you're receiving TV stimuli in other main rooms besides the living room. Not only that, but it can be a distraction as well.

Rec Room: This room is good for a little TV like this for the same reason it's bad in other rooms: because recreation is of course a time to unwind and watch some TV or play video games. It can be on while playing other games in the rec room as well. It doesn't have to be on, of course. This stands for all rooms and locations, but in the rec room it's a much less harmful temptation.

Trailer or camper: Some people go on vacation to get away from the blasted television, but it can also be a moment of relief during travel stress as well. It will make things easier on kids too. The radio offers news and sports information, but not to the extent that television does, and if you like to keep up with something on TV, it would be nice to have some of it on the road as well.

Living room: Most people would typically put a much larger set in the living room, so of course that's a reason right there for this location to be considered bad. However, there is a different and better reason for this location to be bad: Why does the TV even have to be the center focus of the living room at all? It seems like everyone these days has the TV as the focus and it really doesn't have to be. Perhaps put the TV off to the side of the living room, as if it's only one focus out of several.

Don't just put the Sharp LC22DV27UT in any old place around the house. Put it where it will make the most sense to have another television. Putting it just anywhere keeps you from taking a break from it once in a while.
