1: To start with give your house a really good spring clean. If there are areas that are looking tired, a quick splash of paint can make a great deal of difference. It can make your house look fresh and clean and that is appealing to everybody.

2: Make sure that the gardens are weeded and that the lawns are mowed and the edges of the gardens are tidy. Clean the back and front doors so they are inviting from the outside.

3: Open the windows and let the fresh air and especially if it's a nice day. If it's a cold day turn on the heater or the fireplace. You need your potential buyer to feel comfortable and want to linger in the house.

4: If you have traffic noise outside, it may be a good idea to buy a water fountain and have that on the inside to disguise the outside noise.

5: Make sure that there is plenty of light in the house, and if you need to push the curtains and its window coverings right back to bring in more light.
