Warts are caused when a certain virus called Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). This virus is very easy to transmit and is now a very common one. It infects the skin and forces the skin cells to overgrow. These overgrowths of skin cells are warts. These warts are painless growths which appear in the face, the neck, feet soles, hands and fingers and even in the genital areas. Seed warts can be painful at times and also look ugly and therefore it becomes important to remove them. Seed warts are rough and there are some that are very big. It is important to treat any wart as early as possible because they spread very fast. There are many treatments available for the removal of warts. Let's sees some of these treatments.

• Cryotherapy: the warts are freezed using liquid nitrogen. The warts fall within a couple of days after this treatment.
• Applying medicines with salicylic acid is very helpful.
• Catharidin is used to cause blisters to form under the warts.
• Electrocautery: this is the method of burning the warts with the use of electricity.
• Immunotherapy: here immunomodulator agents are injected to trigger the immune system.
• Laser therapy may also be opted for in case the other treatments fail.
• Duct tape method. In this method the wart is covered with a duct tape for 6 days and then removed and the warts are soaked. This is followed by scrapping of the dead cells.

The treatments differ and are best used under the supervision and prescription of the doctor. There are home remedies also and they can be tried. There is also no guarantee that the warts will not reappear. The virus remains in the body even after the warts are treated and therefore there is no guarantee that the warts will not reappear again.
