Secrets of Website Conversion Revealed

Would you like more of the people who visit your websites to respond to your call to action by either subscribing to your newsletter or placing an order? There are ways to increase what is called your website conversion rate and we are about to reveal 5 hot website conversion secrets right here.

1) Have a professional domain name. Avoid using freebies or cheap website names, these do not inspire confidence in your visitors who will struggle to put their trust in a cheapskate.

2) Get rid of any clutter. Remove all junk banners, whizzy moving tickers in fact anything that is not required and that can distract from your goal of getting your website visitor to convert i.e. take the required action. This also includes the removal of pop-up banners which are so 2004!

3) Ask friends who are unrelated to the development of your site to take a look then check and see if they understand your primary sales message. This is a great way to see how effective your sales copy is. If you can simplify your message so it is short yet dynamic then more people will convert. Also make sure you use testimonials that are valid and can be backed up and see what your friends think. Handled properly testimonials are a powerful tool.

4) Test different home pages, this is called split testing. You can buy software that automates the process, but it is also possible to undertake this process manually. Quite simply you copy your existing home page and make small changes. These changes should include the copy and pictures (you'll be amazed at the way people respond to different images and how this can impact on your results). Try subtle colour changes as well. Once you have more than one homepage run each for a two-week period and analyse the results. Then run with the best performing homepage. Once elected you will want to better your results so can try the same again using a new test homepage based on your split-test winner.

5) Be price sensitive. Why not experiment with different prices for your product or service where you can. It is possible to optimise your price and get it set at a rate that will cause more visitors to buy. Please note this does not always mean cheaper. Some products will sell better if they are sold at a higher price due to their perceived value.
