Doing a lot of research and getting the right marketing strategy comprises the large bulk of your SEO marketing campaign. You think you have done everything right, yet you are still ranked low in the search engines. So many questions may come to your mind, like why the rankings are not going up or maybe you are not doing the correct strategies to build enough links. You will try to find the answers to these.

Keywords are still a big part in a SEO campaign strategy. Look for your most powerful keyword or keyword combination or phrases.

The best keywords for your campaign strategy may include broad terms but are still geared towards your products or services. More specific keywords may not produce the desired results in the short term but their inclusion may produce results in the long term also.

Having a good understanding of the keywords you think are the most important, run a search, and you will get your direct competitors. Focus on those competition on page 1 and you can probably get a good analysis on their strategies.

Having a good analysis on your online competition for those listed on page 1, competitors listed 1-10 are the topmost priority. You can give your attention to those on page 2 or 3 when they have their chance to land on the first page.

After you have a list of these sites, try to determine how they got their places in the search engine rankings. How long the site has been active may have given them a good advantage as well as the number of pages the sites has or the use of title tags with the perfect keywords.

Your competitors may be on page 1 now. You will have your chance by using the correct strategies.
