If a business selling these products includes all potential versions of a customer search command within their website, they will increase their chances of a higher ranking. Keyword positioning, using specific keywords in headings and throughout the text, also impacts search engine optimization. A well designed website will include multiple keyword combinations that reflect all aspects of the business.

Another important consideration in search engine marketing includes the use of external links within the website. By directing viewers to other pages and tying searches to other sites, the potential for increased traffic increases. Both keyword usage and links should be well integrated into the site so that the viewer receives the information in a logical method.

Where a large company may be easily found through name recognition, lesser known businesses must rely on positioning themselves on the Internet. The need for effective online marketing continues to increase at a rapid rate. Once a marketing strategy is in place, monitoring the number of visitors is also important. Adding fresh text, evaluating new keywords and incorporating additional links may also be required. By creating, updating and maintaining an effective website that utilizes search engine optimization marketing, a business improves their chance for success.
