Scripture Memorization For Kids Made Easy
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

It is so easy to teach children scripture memorization. From birth to age 7, kids are able to easily memorize all kinds of things. If parents tap into the potential children have to memorize, they can teach them many verses of scripture with little effort.

Have you noticed that you still remember words to songs you learned as a child? It is difficult to forget them, but what about songs that you learned at an older age? You might remember the chorus and some of the words, but you will probably forget some of the lyrics. This is because children easily remember all kinds of things.

Did you have to learn any poems as a child? If so you probably still remember them. This is all due to the developing brain. It allows children to easily memorize all sorts of things.

Christian parents can tap into this potential to teach their children important scriptures. There a several ways you can do this. You can choose one verse per week and read it to your child each day. You can do this before bed, in the morning when they wake up, or at mealtimes. Just choose a set time and stick with it, so it becomes part of your routine.

You can write out the scripture verse and place it on the refrigerator or in the child's bedroom. Each time you see the verse, just repeat it out loud. You will be surprised at how quickly your child will fill in the rest of the verse. If you pause, you will hear your child finish the verse for you. You will also hear your child saying it with you.

Once you have mastered a verse, move on to a new verse. You can introduce a new verse each week, in order to make it easy to stick to a schedule. Each Sunday bring out a new verse of scripture to learn with your child.

You may want to keep a binder with the verses you have already learned. Maybe once a week you should quickly review the previously learned verses. This will keep them fresh in your child's mind, so they don't quickly forget them.

Scripture memorization can become a fun pastime for families to do together. You can make a game out of it and see who knows more verses.
