While researching the family line and the family tree many efforts and pains are taken. When you are done with the family tree scrapbooking, then you would love to show off all the efforts to everyone. When you put all the important aspects of your history and create the tree in the scrapbook, then it becomes interesting for others as well. Flipping through all the pages preserves the memories for others as well. Also all the hard work is saved from getting lost forever.
Just like you would make a scrapbook for other memories, making a family tree scrapbook and can also be quite an enriching experience. Before you start on the genealogy process you would need to pick out a thick and a sturdy scrapbook that can contain all the pictures, photos, honors, military awards, certificates, documents and other such cherished memories. Plus you should also be able to add extra pages to the scrapbook as and when you require to. In this way the previous generation and even your children may be able to add information that is interesting as well. Also if you find other bits of information that pertain back to your ancestors then these can also be added easily. The family tree should be chronologically based and should also address a time line. Just like photo albums you would need to start with the dates and events that come first and then proceed further.
Before you actually start on this labor of love, the family tree should be suitably organized to ensure that you can work easily. Plan the things that you want to include in the scrapbook as well. Usually the first page of the family tree scrapbooking that you create should include the oldest generation and their oldest memory, events and dates. When you start with your grandparents (or even beyond), include their pictures, birth and death certificates, the marriage certificates, awards, honors and other documents that may be important to them. Then you can do the same for your parents and then the current generation. Also continue with the pictures of your children. When you research a family you will also get a chance to speak to all the relatives that you may know. In this way you can even rekindle old memories and relationships that have been long forgotten. A lot of information can just be amassed by simply talking to people. Even if there are no papers or documents to support the claim they can be easily included. Simply write or print all the information that you have gotten from all the factions in the family and all your relatives.
The organization of the family tree scrapbooking is absolutely up to you. You can also chronologically present both sides of the family. You can start from the ancestors of your mother and then include the ancestors of your father as well. In this way, you would have represented both sides of your family.
Devote a page or two to all the members in the family. All names and dates should be legible and clearly market in the family tree as well.
