There are a lot of people of today into scrapbooking, have you ever wonder who the people are behind this trendy craft? Well, here are the lists of people who practiced scrapbooking at the early stage of their lives. These people are the ones who made history in the world of scrapbooking and the lives of scrapbookers.
Joseph Nicephore Niepce in 1826
Though he is not a scrapbooker, he's the one who gave emphasis to take photos which lead to the discovery of paper photographs by George Eastman. These photographs are used in making and designing individual crafts especially in creating scrapbooks.
John Poole in 1826
He published the book "Manuscript Gleanings" and Literary Scrap Book which become so popular at that time. This book contains printed poems and engravings of some literary crafts. He also gives lectures on how to arrange scrapbook supplies and how to collect these embellishments.
James Granger
He is an author of some books that are popular in England. He always leaves the last page of his book blank to make the owner of the book create a personalized design on it. Leaving the last page of the book blank is known as "grangerizing".
Mark Twain
Mark Twain discovers how to improve scrapbooking and he came up with the idea of making his first scrapbook called the Mark Twain's Patent Scrapbook. This book was so popular at that time and there were many people who are requesting a copy of his literary work. Twain's scrapbook came in a variety of leather bindings, a range of cloth bindings, and even in pocket size manila covers and wrappers.
Marielen Christensen of Spanish Fork, Utah
She begun by collecting photographs of her family and she came up with the idea of journalizing these beautiful photographs that she had collected over a number of years. In 1980 she already had fifty volumes of scrapbooks and she was invited to a conference where she had a chance to share her experiences and ideas of making scrapbooks. The conference was known as the World Conference on Records in Salt Lake City. In 1981 Marielen and her husband AJ authored a how to book titled "keeping memories alive" and these books is still on the market today.
