Some people think that there's nothing a spouse can do once the other spouse has decided on a divorce. This is simply not true - I am a living example of that. Until I started taking the right action, things couldn't be worse for my marriage. But I was able to change the tide and save my marriage. And now I want to help you as I think every marriage can be, and should be, saved.

Of course, saving a marriage is by no means an easy task. A lot of spouses, when they don't want the divorce, look for a complete solution that will solve everything overnight. Simply put, there is no such thing. Don't forget that a marriage is a long term thing and whatever problems that led to its breaking are likely caused by long term, deeply rooted issues. It can't vanish overnight. So it's the best if you stopped looking for a quick fix.

What should be done instead is to play for certain human psychological characteristics. A lot of marriages die because one side tried too hard to save it by continuously crying in front of the other side; begging, etc.  These things are all examples of looking for quick fixes. Whereas, what needs to be done is the opposite. Instead of displaying your desperate side to your spouse, you should stress that you are still an independent individual with your actions. When you don't do this, your spouse's subconscious marks you as "easy to have" and this makes you less attractive (since people want what they can't have). If you are able to pull this off and show your spouse that you are not his or her property but a totally independent and equivalent individual, you will be much more attractive to your spouse.

This knowledge which I took from outside advice made great improvements to my marriage - so you should definitely heed it!
