Most marriages end. This is a sad fact - but the moment you signed the marriage papers, it was statistically expected for your marriage to end in a divorce. This is sad - but this doesn't mean that when your marriage is in trouble and heading for divorce you should just sit back and see it die. You can fight - you can save your marriage, just like I did.

During the process in which I saved my marriage, I was helped by an outside source which told me a whole lot about marriages. I was taught that the greatest mistake that people do when they want to save a marriage is to continuously apologize for their mistakes. This is the wrong thing for so many reasons - first of all, you aren't apologizing because you are aware of your mistakes and you want to correct them. You are apologizing because you want to save your marriage. Your spouse will definitely realize this and this will ruin your credibility, making everything even worse.

The Right Step

Whereas, the right step to save a marriage is completely different. The right, most important, and first step to save a marriage is to have a plan. To have a plan - as opposed to giving out not carefully considered, knee jerk reactions. What kills marriages are those sudden reactions like crying or apologizing that make everything worse. Thus, the right step to stop a divorce is to lay back and think of your every action before you make it. Having a plan that you can stick to is the key to saving any marriage - as it was instrumental in saving mine.
