Satellite TV, Why is it the Better Choice?

There are a lot of questions when it comes to satellite TV. Although many things seem to indicate that it is the better service when compared with cable, it is still a newer type of TV service and people don't know as much about satellite TV as they do about cable. It used to be that satellite TV was something that was very expensive and a little bit luxurious. People who had this service paid a lot of money to have many more channels than cable could ever provide and they had an expensive and large satellite dish on their property announcing to the world that they had this type of service. Now satellite service is a lot more discrete and a lot more affordable. Both of these things attract most people to it, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the service.

For one, people want to know why is this service better than cable? In order for people to make a change to another service they want to know that the change it going to be worth it. If there are only minor differences in service then most people probably won't be bothered to make a switch. When it comes to the channels that are offered, satellite TV still maintains it's old reputation of offering more channels than cable does. Of course now with both satellite and cable you have the option of many different types of packages, but in general you get more options with satellite and more for your money as well. When it comes to variety in programming this is especially important. You can have access to a huge number of different sports packages, movie channel packages, and countless high definition programs with a satellite package. These are the channels and features that really stand out when it comes to comparing the two services, however there is programming that will meet the needs of any viewer in your home.

Maybe you have heard that the quality of satellite TV is not as good as cable TV. This rumor is completely untrue. Satellite offers more HD options than cable and all programming is in digital format with no extra charges. The picture quality is higher with satellite on the whole and the sound quality as well. It's true that there are rare cases where satellite TV service can be effected by weather. This is something that they are constantly working on and improving. Now it is very rare to have a problem like this with your satellite TV service. There might be a chance of this happening in very severe weather, but this is about as likely as your electricity going out, which would also leave you without your cable service.

Satellite TV, maybe because it is the newer of the two services, is always working to improve their service, their programming and their prices. Cable, however, seems to be happy to coast along on their reputation of being well known. Wouldn't you rather be with the company who wants to work hard to keep you happy?

You can find quality cheap satellite tv packages with DirecTV. And your satellite tv installation will be free as well!
