San Sebastian - The Events and Festivals

Most tourists find San Sebastian interesting especially because of the beaches and the monuments found in the region. Tourism however incorporates different sectors and among them are the different cultures, festivals and other events held in the destination of choice. San Sebastian also has such aspects which complete to the tourist value of the area.

Culture and festivals

International film festival: this is perhaps the most attractive in the region as it calls stars from all of Spain, Europe and the rest of the world. The capital city of the province is San Sebastian. The list of stars who have attended the festivals goes on and on showing just how important the festival is. It is held in the month of September annually and those interested can therefore plan their vacations within this period. Numerous awards are dished out to the stars during the festival.

Jazz festival: this San Sebastian festival is normally held in the month of July and also happens to be of great importance in the whole of Europe. It is actually the oldest Spanish festival. If you are a jazz lover, you are bound to find the event quite interesting in more ways than one.

Classical music festival: also referred to as Quincena musical, this festival is held annually within the month of August. It is one of the oldest of its kind taking into consideration that the very first event was held back in 1939 in Spain and the tradition has taken root.

Gastronomy
