Samsung U600 - A Full Featured Slim Phone

Samsung U600 was introduced as a part of the new Ultra Edition Range II. It is the world's slimmest phone at only 10.9 mm. It also boasts of a wide range of features crammed into this thin phone. The features that actually work. The slim phone is also ultra light thus making it quite comfortable to use and hold. It is in fact a successor to Samsung's extremely popular D900 model.

Profile

The Samsung U600 looks professional without being too business-like. This slider phone is dominated by the screen in the front. For a small phone the screen is quite big. The phone has a sunlight mode that optimizes the screen's contrast. The screen has a good resolution with 262,000 colors.

Keypad

Just below the screen are two touch-sensitive soft keys, a mechanical four-way navigation key and touch-sensitive send and end call keys. The screen slides open using Samsung's super-smooth slide mechanism. It reveals a flat numerical keypad.

Camera

On the back of the handset is situated the 3.2 mega pixel camera with the lens is well protected when not in use. It has auto focus and LED photo light, but no proper xenon flash. It also has the ability to take photos of business cards using the namecard recognition service. It then magically inputs all the important information from the photo of the business card into your contact database. The camera is quite impressive for ultra thin phone.

Music player

The Samsung U600 mobile phone has an impressive music player. The MP3 player with a great sound and a great interface that's almost as good as the interface on Sony Ericsson's Walkman phones. The great sound quality is courtesy digital power amp that was developed specifically for Samsung by Bang and Olufsen. It plays a variety of music formats including MP3, AAC files and protected Windows Media files. You can set music to shuffle or repeat, rate individual tracks, create play lists and adjust the equalizer.

Features

The phone comes with an internal memory of 60MB and can be expanded with the use of a microSD card. The phone is a quad band GSM phone with GPRS and blue tooth. This enables web browsing and email sending.
