The Samsung H1 is a Smartphone designed for those who love having technology at their fingertips. A relatively new entry to the market, the Samsung H1 is also known as the Vodafone H1 and has already made news thanks to its great features. It has been tailor made for the service provider Vodafone 360 and comes with its logo.

Although slightly large in size, this handset fits easily in the palm, pocket or purse. It measures 4.56 x 2.28 x 0.51 inches and has a solid and elegant appearance. The front panel is dominated by the 3.5 inch multi touch AMOLED display. The screen is quite responsive to touch and gives users a great touchscreen experience. A simple touch or flick of the finger is enough to load applications, scroll through the menu, view images etc. Images appear clear and crisp on the display due to its 480x800 pixel resolution. Viewing images, videos and web pages on this screen is comfortable.

The TI OMAP 3430 600 MHz application processor which powers this unit works really well. You will find that applications load really fast and there is no problem with hang ups and glitches.

The Vodafone 360 platform offers users some great features like the ability to synch their contacts on the web with their phonebook. It automatically integrates contacts from social networking sites, e-mail accounts and IM with the phonebook. In addition, it also backs up data from your phone online so that you never lose data. Another great feature is the Vodafone proximity sensor. It recognizes the people you contact frequently and brings them to the front of the contact display.

The built-in 5 mega pixel camera has features like auto focus and LED flash. The camera is easy to use and gives good, crisp and sharp images. Dim lighting is not a problem while taking photos thanks to the LED flash. You can also record high definition videos using this camera. Video calls are supported.

Entertainment features are a highlight of the Samsung H1. The audio and video player supports all popular file formats. You can download video and audio files from the internet or transfer them from a PC. Customers can use the Vodafone music service to buy music tracks or subscribe to music services. FM radio is also present.

The Vodafone Samsung H1 offers users excellent connectivity. It is a dual band GSM phone with GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This means that you can stay connected even in remote areas. The Opera 9.6 browser with flash support loads web pages with ease. Besides MMS and SMS, you also get features like push e-mail and IM using Windows Live and Google Talk.

Since the H1 has 16GB memory, you can store several multi pixel images, videos and download games and media files. Using the Bluetooth technology, you can share images and music files with friends.

In all, this new Samsung Vodafone handset gives you the advantage of a Vodafone platform along with good connectivity, imaging and multimedia features.

The Samsung Vodafone H1 and recently launched Samsung Genio are two of many new touch screen phones written about by this author.
