If you are one of the unlucky few sales people who have lost your job or position or are about to you should really give network marketing a look. Network marketing is a natural fit for someone in the sales industry because you would be doing what you are used to doing and that is talking to people about your product, and in the case on network marketing you could discuss the opportunity also.
Just this week a major retailer announced that it would be laying-off over three thousand sales people and replacing some of them with new people at a much lower pay. This practice of laying workers off has been quite common for the last few years as companies try to reduce costs so they can be more competitive on prices. It is only lately that the sales force has been targeted for downsizing. An article in a national newspaper mentioned how the internet is being used more extensively to sell more products and services making the need for salespeople much less than in previous years and it is only going to get worse.
The best defense that a sales person could take is to get started in their own network marketing business where they can use the internet in their favor. Most network marketing companies offer a free website for you to conduct your business on plus many other tools for you to build your business with. It would be well advised to shy away from a network marketing opportunity that charged for the use of its website. You shouldn't need to pay for that.
If you are a salesperson with a reasonable to high degree of drive and ambition you really should check out a network marketing opportunity to help you build a secondary income stream. There are many successful network marketers from all types of sales backgrounds including, auto sales, electronic appliance sales, insurance sales, etc. Almost anyone who has the ability to talk to people and promote a product and opportunity can succeed.
Check out the many network-marketing opportunities until you find one that suits your taste. You will need to find one that has a product that you like and can sell plus you will need to find a sponsor that can help you to get started in your own business. The first step is to find a company that you like and like the products. Then you have to find a sponsor in that company that you can work with. There is very little risk, if any, in starting your own network marketing business. About the only costs you will incur are the ones that you have to pay to buy an introductory kit, which is around forty dollars and includes CD's, DVD's, and company forms and stationary you will need. The other expense is your own monthly product purchase and that's it. There are no big-budget busting expenditures to worry about. No building to build or anything like that is required. Just a cell phone and a computer and you are in business. It is almost too easy. So check out the network marketing opportunities that are available, find one you like and get going building your own business so you don't have to worry about the axe falling on your job.
