Who would not want to have the gift of longevity? It is the law of survival -- the best, the strongest, and the fittest live the longest and are able to enjoy life to the fullest. Such is the appeal of the new supplement, resveratrol. While it has been around for quite a number of years, resveratrol has only been put to tablet form in recent years. Researches, in fact, has still only been done on mice and insects. Even so, the supplement has already been made available for human consumption and has enjoyed popularity for its health benefits since it was launched. Resveratrol has enjoyed tri-media attention. The supplement is now widely availble in various brands in the internet.

Even with the proven benefits of resveratrol in preventing aging and heart disease, there is still a question as to how much resveratrol dosage to take. Studies are still being conducted on the optimal resveratrol dosage that could yield maximum results. At present, a safe dosage is recommended at anywhere from 20mg to 50mg per day. There are resveratrol supplements that are taken in 20mg tablets once a day.

There are also those that are taken in 15mg tablets twice a day. Taking the resveratrol pill in this dosage is believed to lengthen the resveratrol activation effect. In the case of resveratrol, more is not necessarily better. Volunteer studies show that mega doses of 500mg to 1000mg of resveratrol dosage everyday could cause adverse health effects. While these effects are not serious enough to cause permanent damage, experts still do not recommend that resveratrol be taken in such dosages.
