As the landscape of the home business terrain constantly changes, there is a collective thinking pattern for those business owners in the know. For the few hundred or thousand folks that really understand the art of marketing they know that using freebies to get and keep customers is one of the best business practices.
Since it is known by business owners that using free gifts to get and keep clients is a good way to run their business, you would think that these people would automatically know where to procure free stuff to give away. Truthfully, this is not really the case because these owners have to find the right kinds of freebies to hand out to their patrons.
As far as locating the best type of gift to give away to clients, a residual income home based business owner has to really look closely at what type of business they run. The chosen free gift has to go along well with whatever services or products that business offers.
Probably the best way to find a freebie to give away to patrons of a business and to make sure that gift is unique to that business is to create a gift from scratch. Writing an eBook or report to hand out to people that solves one of their consumer related problem would be a great created gift.
Finding the right price to pay for something that is intended to be given away is often a slippery slope for most business owners. But, in the case of residual income earners the price to pay for a free gift can be justified if it is a little high because the business will be making revenue from that one customer for many months and years to come.
Ideally a free gift that is setup for mass distribution should be free to create. In the cases where the gift will be given as a reward for a purchase then the gift should cost no more than 10 percent of the net profit made from the initial purchase.
This means if a business owner stands to make 10 dollars net from the sale of a product or service then their free gift should only set them back about a dollar in production or acquisition cost.
The best way to find the best gifts for a residual income business to give away is a matter of looking around both offline and online to see what is out there. Although free is good, finding something that has high value but low cost is the next best thing.
