Residential Wind Power Can Help You Say GoodBye To High Energy Bills

Owning a home is one of the best investments you can make in your lifetime. However the costs associated with home ownership continue to rise and the one cost that seems to rise faster then others is electricity. There are many options to help the home owner save electricity and residential wind power generation is one of those options that does its job quietly and efficiently!

Residential wind power is produced by a turbine generator that is installed on a 80-120 foot tall tower. The tower height allows the generator propeller to be mounted high in the air for maximum wind exposure. As the air blows across the propeller it starts to spin. As it spins the generator produces electricity. When there is no wind you still can use power from the electric company to power your home, and on days when your power unit produces to much power the electric company must buy it back from you by federal law. In most cases the company that sold you the residential wind power unit can help you fill out the required paperwork for electric company power buyback.

A wind power system does require a large initial investment of between $6000-$20,000 dollars to purchase and install the generator unit. Although this cost is offset by the energy savings it will give the owner. The average time frame for the generator system to pay for itself and start producing free electricity is between 6-15 years depending on usage and generator size.

Electricity use in the home is unavoidable and as more and more technological items are being used by consumers its usage is increasing steadily. With this increase in usage comes in an increase in price. By using residential wind power to decrease your power bills not only you save money every month but the long term savings from the unit can total into the thousands of dollars.
