Recently I decided it was time that we got a new printer for the office. At present we have a printer that is quite old but I have purchased a couple of maintenance kits during its lifetime which are basically used to replace all of the rollers the fuser unit and a few other bits and pieces. The great thing about maintenance Kits is that you are basically replacing all the parts to generally wear it over time.
One of the best places to look whilst doing research I found is of course on the Internet. It's amazing how many people do not bother to do this and check out the various reviews on products. Because there are so many enthusiasts and people trying to sell these products you can get great mix of information from recommendations to actually what the printers like before you buy it from people that have already purchased.
Because a lot has changed in air office most of what's now use laptops and we also have a fixed wired Ethernet network and a wireless network. To wireless networks allows us to move around the office and go to various meeting rooms while still staying connected. Ideally I was looking for a printer that will also allow us to connect to wireless. Many manufacturers are now supplying printers that come with wireless connectivity. They work on the same standard 802.11 that you will find in many laptops and PCs today.
There was also an option to upgrade their present printer using an upgrade kit or by simply buying a USB dongle which would then allow the printer to be, more or less also. It's really a decision that you have to make whether this is one of the key factor should require. Most of the printing we do is textbased so it wasn't essential that it had the best graphics in the world in order to achieve what is required.
I spoke to a number of friends of mine about going online doing my research and then deciding to purchase from an Internet website. To be honest and not many were keen on this idea because they prefer to go to a local store and make a purchase there. To be honest I probably saved about $50 and I also purchased ink cartridges at a discounted price because I was already producing the printer. This is definitely something you should look out for if you are thinking of buying a new printer you can stock up on ink for a long time at a reduced price by doing everything at the same time.
About three days after I made my online purchase everything arrived in perfect working order. It took about 20 minutes to get everything out of the box and plugged in and set up it was that easy. We only run a small office we not have in-house IT so it's nice to know that if you are going to purchase a wireless printer that they are quite simple to set up once you follow the instructions.
