While it's likely your child will come to visit on occasion, to preserve the room as is almost seems like a waste. As time passes and your lifestyle changes, your home should reflect your current needs.  Taking the time to remodel a new spare room to serve different purposes is a great way to keep your home functional while utilizing all available space.

Hobby Room: For those with a passion for knitting, collecting stamps or baseball memorabilia, or even scrapbooking, now you can dedicate an entire room to your favorite pastime.

Once you've decided what to do with the extra space, next comes the task of renovating the room to accommodate any particular furniture or shelving units.
