Regaining Trust in a Relationship

A relationship with the absence of trust will never survive no matter how strongly you love each other. Regaining trust in a relationship may seem to be the most difficult task, you'll never know if it will even happen but it is possible. People who are sincere with their intentions tend to do everything in their might just to recover lost trust. Keep in mind that once you have admitted your mistake of cheating on your partner, being sorry is not enough. It doesn't stop after you apologize.

Regaining trust in a relationship will take time. You can't dictate your partner to just shrug off his shoulder and forget everything. It never works that way! You have to give him all the time he needs to forgive you and eventually forget. Don't make the mistake of blaming him why you cheated. Cheating can never be justified no matter what the reason is. Stop defending yourself because it will just worsen the situation. When you ask for forgiveness, be sincere and show your partner that you are truly sorry for hurting his feelings. Also, when you ask for a second chance, make sure that you can promise your partner that such incident won't happen again.

Since you have violated your partner's trust, accept the fact that from now on your freedom and privacy will be lessened. This may mean that your life will be an open book which means that you have to tell your partner everything. If you want to prove yourself, be honest all the time and be upfront about every aspect of your life. Make your partner feel that you can be trusted again.

The most important thing you can do when regaining trust in a relationship is to be consistent. It will take months before you can achieve what you are aiming for but it will all be worth it in the end.
