Are you convinced you can never be a writer? Do you feel you have nothing interesting to say?

Well, I know how you feel. I'm sure there are hundreds of people, just like you, who feel they can't possibly write anything of interest. In fact, I was one of those people and I am going to share my story with you.

When I started my online business, I discovered writing articles would be an excellent way to raise my online visibility and help prospective clients find me. I must be honest and admit I groaned when I heard this, as I don't really like writing. But I registered my interest anyway, and hoped I'd find the inspiration I needed to write the articles. More importantly, I hoped I would come up with something interesting to say.

The weeks went by and I still had not written any articles. I just couldn't motivate myself to start writing, I may even have put up an invisible barrier between me and my first article. Three months later, I still hadn't even written one single word.

Then one day, out of the blue, I just sat down and thought of a few tips and advice I could pass on to others to help them. I surprised myself when I actually produced my first short article. I had completely underestimated the amount of knowledge I had gained throughout my life, which could easily be documented in short 250 - 400 word articles.

You'll be more amazed to hear though, after the long delay in getting started, I then went on to write over thirty five articles in less than a month. Who would have thought I could have achieved this?

So, if you are still in doubt about being a writer and having nothing interesting to say, just think of all the skills and knowledge you have gained so far and how this information could benefit others.

I'm sure once you get over the initial fear of writing, you'll find lots of subjects you can write about.

Here are a couple of tips to get you started:

1. Take a pen and paper, then think of all the things you have done in your life so far

For example, do you have a pet, or a hobby you could write about? Have you been through an experience or situation which could benefit others, divorce, weight loss, repossession, redundancy? Have you been in a job or career where you gained expert knowledge? Do you have expertise you could share? Write down a few titles to begin with, the content will come later.

2. Let your mind flow

After you decide on the titles, then write down everything that comes into your head on that subject. Make a list under each title. It's important you seize the moment when you have inspiration, don't worry about the punctuation and grammar, you can correct that later.

Remember, people are constantly looking for solutions to their problems, whether it is going through divorce or training a small dog, the list is endless. You'll be surprised how easy you'll find article writing once you believe you really can write and take action!
