Many people cite the reason of wanting to help others as their main driver to learn Reiki. This is very understandable because the effects of the healing can be quite dramatic. Who wouldn't want to share in that?
A lot of people want to get into Reiki as a way of making some more money. A lot of people have financial issues at the moment and are looking to branch out into new areas. This could be you if you were interested. Not only would you help people you would have extra financial security as well.
Don't be daunted by that. You can just learn Reiki for fun. All I am saying is that you could earn money if you wanted to. It has a great advantage in that it is a growing part of a very stable industry, even in recession. You could combine that with something that you love doing.
If you have the chance to learn Reiki from a Master then that is the best way to do it. It isn't for everybody because it can be expensive and can take a lot of time. If you don't have the money for that then there are other ways to do it.
These days there are many ways to learn Reiki. You could go to library and hire a book. I would prefer getting a Reiki DVD than a book as you get to see the sessions in action. Then if you like these methods you could progress on to classes if you felt that to be worthwhile.
