If you had the opportunity to make 60-100,000 working in your own business by starting out with an investment of less than $200 would you take a serious look at the opportunity? Many people would shy away because they would immediately feel they didn't have the skill or knowledge to make that kind of money. You can overcome inexperience fairly rapidly but you will need a solid business foundation to keep your enterprise going all year round. I would recommend from the start to find a local shop that will screen print a few polo shirts with your business name on them. Get yourself a set of business cards from the local print shop to go with your flyers and you're off and running. The more people you see each day, the more business you'll get. Be sure to learn all the new methods of cleaning glass and its surrounding frame. Become the expert that they can rely on for more than just windows.

A competent business and marketing plan will keep you focused on the company's goals. Have a weekly sales and marketing goal to shoot for. Don't settle for mediocrity as you begin to make money in your business. You can be the window cleaning service operator that offers a pleasant surprise to your clients. Send out thank-you postcards once a month. Offer additional services or package programs for your clients to choose their level of service.

Develop a system for completing your jobs that allows for quality control as well as initial cleaning. Set your policies and procedures early on in your business before you begin to take on employees. Establish your code of conduct, your service policy and even ask for customer feedback. Do whatever it takes to satisfy your customers thoroughly. This alone will set you head and shoulders above the businesses in your area.
