Reasons Why You Want to Start a Business - You Want to Have Your Life However You Feel Like

Much is to be said about doing whatever you feel like. Most of it I do not really care about. But you should. Your lifestyle is an area of your life that needs to be considered carefully when choosing a business to start. Whatever road you choose to take, you will be stuck to it for a while, so consider what you will do or not do to get to your destination. Your choices will help define what lifestyle you will lead.

As an example, I do not mind working long hours, or bending over backwards for an important client, and even the not so important ones, I also do not mind working on weekends, but I do mind working on Sunday. Many a Sunday I had to work to meet deadlines. I also will take so many unreasonable requests, until the request is so unreasonable and offensive that I snap and make sure that client never contacts me again. Sounds brutal, but that is the lifestyle I chose. It is what I am comfortable with. So pick what you are comfortable with, which will likely be much different than my choice. That is how it should be, since your individuality is the edge of success.

Many times you will face choices that will test your will to continue, like a 35 hour workday (hopefully you will have less than five of those in a lifetime, the headache afterward is very painful). You might have to give up your nice car or your favorite pastime because you will need that money to get your business where you want it to go. These are lifestyle choices you should consider.

Now, now... its not all that bad. You do not have to do all those sacrifices, you are the boss remember? It is up to you to choose how much of your lifestyle will be affected. Maybe you will be perfectly happy with very few changes and that is great. Your goals, your business, and your life should always lead you to achieve satisfaction and happiness, and those are custom tailored by you and for you. So as you plan for your business, remember to include how it will impact your lifestyle and make sure you and your loved ones are comfortable with that.
