Radiohead Tunes Which Will Make Anyone a Fan

When it comes to greatest bands of the past twenty years, one band that is inevitably thrown in the conversation is Radiohead. Sure, U2, Green Day, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Dave Matthews Band can have arguments made for them, but none of these bands continue to mature the way that Radiohead does (except maybe Green Day).

If you have never listened to Radiohead, you are truly missing out. Here are some of their best songs to get started with.

High and Dry is a very popular Radiohead song off their album, "The Bends." It is a great song to learn on an acoustic guitar as well and seems to be a very popular song to play during sad moments in movies.

Radiohead is never a band to hide their feelings. They tackle all subject matter and are not afraid to voice their political opinions. This is most apparent on their album "Hail To The Thief," which criticizes the Bush administration. While I'm not one to get into heated political debates, "There There" on this album is an awesome song.

While it is not technically a song and technically did not include the whole band, Thom York's "Eraser" solo album (and track) is a great listen. It is stripped down, and an interesting fact is that he recorded the whole album using Garage Band on his Mac.

"Talk Show Host" is another great song of theirs. This song became very popular when it was featured in the Romeo and Juliet movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. It is a slow song that slowly builds and never peaks, and remains somber.

If you saw There Will Be Blood, then you know how menacing and fantastic that soundtrack was. What you may not have realized was Radiohead's own Johnny Greenwood wrote the whole score and helped make an incredible film.

So these are some songs and albums of Radiohead that worth a listen or two. Most of their albums can be listened to start to finish, which is hard to say for most bands these days.
