What To Expect When You Finally Kick The Habit

It's not as undoable as many people suggest. You can quit smoking. With the correct goals, the correct technique and the correct mindset, you can say adios to your highly fatal habit and turn a new leaf in life, one that is fresh and tar-free.

What a number of wannabe former smokers fail to realize, though, is that there are certain quit smoking symptoms that are sure to block their efforts. The problem I observe is that most smokers who manage to abandon smoking are yanked by surprise by these quit smoking symptoms. Hence, several of of these smokers fall into relapse, finding comfort the familiar experience of their dangerous habit.

This is the reason why I think it's best to tackle these quit smoking symptoms so that you - as a smoker who has decided to kick out your smoking habit - will learn how to face them head on to ensure that you won't return to a habit that you should bid goodbye to for all of eternity.

- You will begin to hunger for food, more than usual. Or so your mind will lead you to believe. The fact is, smoking provides a type of oral gratification. When you cease smoking, your system will be very much accustomed to holding something between the lips that it will attempt to find an alternative. Eating, naturally, is the most convenient replacement. Thus, smokers who manage to stop smoking often feel the yearning for something to eat - or something to chew to be exact. The consequence will be some extra fat buildup in the first few months.

- Your work rate will be severely reduced, at least for the first quarter or so. Such is because you're so used to "rewarding" yourself with a smoke every break. When you stop smoking, you won't have that "reward" to look forward to. As a result, Hence, you'll be less driven to go through the grinds of your days. This is easy to remedy. Just find new motivation!

- The yearning for a puff will last a lifetime. Whenever you're bored, you'll desire to light up a stick. Whenever you want to be more productive, you'll want to smoke. Whenever you're stressed, you'd want to find comfort with a stick. Throughout all these, you will hold your breath until the moment comes when the temptations will stop. Here's the cold fact: the temptations will never cease. It's just something you will have to learn how to curtail. It may be difficult, but surely, you're sturdier than that, right?
