A quick weight loss diet can work if you understand the different factors involved in giving your body what it needs to be at its best. When it comes to nourishing your body during weight loss, fruit needs to be one of those factors for a few important reasons.

Though nutritionists have always known that fruit is an essential part of a healthy diet, ongoing studies continue to reveal more reasons why it is so important. When you know these reasons, you realize why a quick weight loss diet works that much better when you include a variety of fruits.

· Fruits such as berries and pomegranates contain antioxidants that help boost the body's immunity against such things as viruses, bacterial infections, and cancer. Though this may not at first seem to have anything to do with a quick weight loss diet, it is important to note that a strong immune system keeps you from illness, which can impede fitness goals.

· Fruits contain fiber, and fiber is essential for healthy digestion. When your body is burning up fat it needs the backup of healthy digestion and healthy elimination. Fiber helps food move easily through your system. As an added bonus, it can also keep your body from absorbing some of the fat and calories that it takes in.

· Some fruits, such as apples and peaches, contain pectin, a type of fiber that helps food stay in your stomach for a longer period of time. This allows the feeling of fullness to last longer. It can help tremendously with a quick weight loss diet, keeping blood sugars level and hunger at bay.

· Fruits are chock full of vitamins and minerals that help your body work at peak efficiency. Though vitamins and minerals can and sometimes should be taken in supplement form, it is always best to get your fruit nutrients in natural form. All parts of the fruit work together to maximize nutrient potency.

It's easy to understand why fruit is essential to a quick weight loss diet. Warnings against including fruit when trying to lose weight steadily are unfounded, and if heeded they can even be dangerous. Fruit will help keep your body at its best as you work toward fitness.
