Bare-butted, cute-faced, dreamy-eyed Qin Dai is one step away from fame as a writer. She has written a romantic novel and she's using her skin to sell her book and buy her way to fame...but I'm not complaining...

Qin Dai has posted some of her bare-ass pictures in her blog on http://www.ycwb.com and it's drawing eyeballs, comments and a lot of interest. But, you've gotta be able to navigate your way through a sea of Chinese to get to her blog, a feat I'm not capable of achieving.

She speaks passionately about her deep joy, sense of freedom and the desire to express herself naturally while comparing herself with Kafka. Her readers cannot see the connection between Qin Dai and Franz Kafka. Perhaps, there's a connection that will show itself as Qin Dai's writing flowers and she is better able to express those thoughts that have seized hold of her mind, ideas that have troubled her and questions that she has struggled to find answers to.

If Qin Dai feels there is a connection, I will take her word for it for in life there are such connections that are not always or easily evident to outsiders...connections that are felt deep in the quiet of a struggling heart...

Who, but Qin Dai herself, can tell of her existentialist dilemmas, her convictions and her fears?

Qin Dai has shown her bare butt to sell her book. Perhaps, some day she will have the words that will capture pictures of her mind in its naked beauty, too...perhaps, that will be more interesting to readers and will enable her to sell more than mere books...and become a purveyor of great thoughts...

Rajesh Kanoi (Jack) is a published writer, now living and working in China. Many of his short-stories, poems and articles have been published, including a book of short-stories, 'From China With Love' (Lipstick Publishing).
