Pure OCD is a variance of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It causes the person to go through habitual phases in their mind, such as having another person say a word so many times, or counting to a certain number multiple times a day. OCD is similar to walking into a clothing store with nearsightedness. From a distance, it's just a bunch of clothing. Once you get up close, you see the detail and difference. People with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder require a solution to "get up close", so to speak. Each person has their own variance of OCD, and that's how it needs to be approached.
Just about everyone with some kind of physical habit or ritual actually has pure OCD, whether they are aware of it or not. If this is not confronted with the proper solution, it can go to the next stage, physical OCD. Unfortunately, that change is nearly inevitable. However, looking to the brighter side, you can learn to pure Obsessive Compulsive Disorder before it elevates. This requires you to take the first step, and find the correct solution.
One of a plethora of methods is to convince yourself that the OCD thoughts in your head are unproductive, and hinder you from doing things you'd rather be doing, or thinking of topics you'd find more enjoyable. A good tip is to ask "What would I rather think about; what would bring me more joy imagining?" whenever you find yourself caught in a bad mental habit. That trick is literally one of thousands of methods available to help beat pure OCD.
God does not want you to suffer, or have to deal with the effects of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder for the rest of your life. However, He also does not want you to become stagnant, and have your life become devoid of effort. The Lord wishes you to have a clear and effective mind. Free will is considered a gift by many, so let's use that gift to the fullest! I know you may have felt alone in dealing with pure OCD, but I PROMISE you, that is not the case. Let God have some control, too. Accept help from the right places, and the right events will begin to effect you. You don't have to deal with mental rituals or habits forever if you put forth effort into the right solutions, which will be shown to you very soon.
Remember, pure OCD is a more advanced degree of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. As a result, the keys to beating the two differ, which is why it's so important to be able to sift through the right information from the wrong. Physical OCD is a practically inevitable step unless you are willing to begin taking steps in the correct direction, away from your mental habits. There are a huge amount of tips and solutions available should you wish to find them, and I am sure you'd like to! Keep in mind that you are not alone in this.
