Public Restaurant in New York City - A Great Dining Experience
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

New York City has many great restaurants, all with different reasons to love them. But one excels in decor, food, ambiance and overall experience. Public is just that place.

Public is an eclectic and Australian restaurant in the small neighborhood of NoLita. It was designed by the design firm AvroKo, which is known for it's extremely stylish and ambient decor, setting the right mood when dining at one of their spaces. Public is not only a restaurant, it also has a great bar and lounge area where you can sit at small tables or at the bar and enjoy great specialty cocktails or an Australian beer.

The Monday Room is an annex to Public, which is a great wine bar and lounge. The spot is located to the left of the entrance to Public and you have access to a wine steward who will give you recommendations, prepare a flight of wines or come up with food and wine pairings from their menu. It is definitely a great place for a date to relax with some friends.

Aside from the decor of Public, which is exquisite, the food really excels. Everything from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts are all mouth watering. The kangaroo, which you probably can't get in most restaurants could be the best thing on the menu.

In addition to dinner and lunch, Public serves a fantastic brunch and usually has special deals like a prix fixe with a complementary bloody mary or mimosa. It's not a shabby way to spend your Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Afterwards, you can walk around NoLita and go shopping at some of the cool stores.

Overall, Public is a great spot for a special occasion or a date. If you're looking for good food, atmosphere and decor, this is the place to go. It could be a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. You will not be disappointed.
