Almost everyone American loves Thanks Giving but did you know many people are now celebrating it in the UK? In the UK, many people have begun to celebrate this popular holiday because it is an excellent reason to get the family together. If you are in business, you can take advantage of this special holiday by basing a promotion around this much loved day. Promotional gifts can help build your brand around Thanks Giving and what's more, the gifts do not need to be expensive. Following are a few ways UK businesses have used promotional gifts to promote their businesses over the years. Hopefully these will give you a few ideas.

The Restaurant: Farrar's Bistro in Hartlepool, England has a large American clientele. There are a lot of American based companies in the area. Many of the American employees have begun to use Farrar's as a meeting place for dinner and drinks. Realising that these customers may feel a bit homesick around Thanks Giving, Mark Farrar ordered 250 turkey shaped stress balls to hand out to any customers that wanted them. They were printed with Farrar's logo and text promoting a Thanks Giving Turkey Weekend! The restaurant was packed at a time when it was usually slow and his American customers loved the effort he had gone to.

Free Range Turkey Farm: A North Yorkshire based free range chicken and turkey farm wanted to promote the fact that they would now have Turkeys available for Thanks Giving. Their turkeys were usually only ready around the Christmas holiday but as they were receiving increasing interest in Thanks Giving turkeys they decided to have a selected number of birds ready earlier. They ordered cheap turkey logobugs and ensured everyone that came through the doors of their farm shop got one. The promotional flags on the bugs promoted the early Thanks Giving turkey sale. The turkeys all sold out much to the disappointment of a few that failed to place their orders early enough. They have decided to do the same inexpensive promotion each year.

An American company based in London: A London based American corporation wanted to have a Thanks Giving party for their 25 employees and their families. As they were on a tight budget, they decided only to purchase a few turkey themed gifts for the children. This would allow the adults to talk while the children played. They purchased Thanks Giving themed crayons and paper, balloons and some turkey paper hats. Of course they ensured the company logo was on each of the gifts giving their employees a good feeling about the company they work for and promoting their brand.

Dan Toombs is the Managing Director of CompuGift Limited, the UK's first internet based promotional gift supplier. The company was established in 1997 and is a leading supplier of promotional gifts to businesses in the UK and Europe. CompuGift's popular promotional stress balls website features the turkey stress balls mentioned in this article.
