Program Yourself To Be Positive!

Expert Author Ann Evanston

I want to talk to you about limiting beliefs, reality, and the difference. Often, without even realizing it, we can set ourselves up to feeling negative about ourselves and making those negatives feel true. What are the 2 most powerful words we can say to ourselves? I AM. "I am" programs our current states of being. Whether in the negative or the positive, it sets up our bodies to experience what we are saying. Think about it. Did you wake up and say to yourself; "I am so tired," or "I am refreshed and ready for the day?"

Sometimes without even realizing it, we can be our own worst critics and say things that our bodies then believe.

Do you say:

"I'm fat" or "I'm a lean, mean machine?"
"I'm broke" or "I'm attracting everything I need and more?"

What I have realized is that this often happens at an unconscious level. I have to:

1 - stop - think consciously about what I have been thinking about
2 - change it right then and there
3 - feel the new "I am" statement in my body for a reality check

Brian Tracy says we need to "release the brakes!"

How can you change your I AM statements today to reflect a more positive day?
How are you feeling right now that might have been created by I AM statements?

I recently started a new exercise program based on how I achieve success in my life. Yes, I do vision boards, but let's face it; manifesting it isn't enough. Action is required.

If you really want to achieve it, you must focus 10 minutes EVERY DAY on the things that are most important.

What changes do you need to make and how are you going to achieve greater success, happiness, fitness, wealth, relationship... after your "reality check"?

My first job out of college was working with abused and neglected teenage girls: sexually, physically and emotionally abused and neglected, drug and/or alcohol addicted, pregnant and/or parenting. Their world was defined by limiting beliefs. When I started developing self-esteem groups for them, I realized the power of what we tell ourselves. It's everywhere!

Now over 20 years have gone by and I still teach limiting beliefs. Sometimes I think my clients think I am crazy when I have them do a limiting beliefs activity with me!

Things that create negative emotion, that anger us about others, that fight or flight we often feel is often because of a limiting belief. Next time you feel that way about something, ask yourself what the belief is that you tell yourself. You may be surprised.

I hope this article has helped you to realize YOUR reality.
