Basketball is a game played between two teams of 5 players each. The object being to throw a ball through a basked on the other side of the court. You take the ball down the court by dribbling or passing with your hands.

There are several positions on a basketball team. Point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward and a center. A point guard is usually the leader on the floor. They call out the plays and control how fast the game goes. They are usually the shortest players on the team, but Michael Jordan was a point guard and he was 6ft 6in tall. They are usually the fastest players on the team.

A shooting guard is a good shooter from long distances. They are also expected to dribble fast and well. They are usually the back-up ball handler and better shooters. That's why they are called shooting guards.

Next is a small forward which can either shoot from long ranges or shoot near the basket and get rebounds, etc. They usually play around the corner and usually drive along baseline. They have to be a good rebounder, runner, passer, and a hard driver.

Then there is a power forward. They usually play by the basket. They do short range shots and layups. They are good at rebounding. They fight under the basket and are usually taller than the guards.

The last position is a center. They are usually the tallest and slowest players. Their jobs are usually to score points when by the basket and get rebounds. They are solid rebounders and good inside shooters. They are the strongest player and interchangeable with power forwards.
