Everything can be won by love and care. From the day we are born our loved ones care about us and this love and care helps us to live happily. A day without love and care is a day incomplete. It is not only the human beings who need love and care but animals as well as plants also need it. In combination with food and water, everybody needs love and care too. Some are very fortunate as they have many caring hands and one such creature is Angelfish. Angelfish are cared by their mothers and by fish lovers who keep them in aquariums.
Bringing angelfish home is also a step by step process, the first is bringing the tank, then deciding the fish, giving them good conditions to live and last but not the least caring for them forever. In beginning, one may get confused and nervous while handling fish. All fish are not easy to handle but gradually one gets used to it and does not face much problem. You just have to be very particular about the water quality and the food quality.
Then you must have a question in your mind about the number of fish you should put in the tank. Normally as the rule says, in the case of freshwater angelfish, a tank should compulsorily have at least 10 gallons of water for a fully grown up freshwater angelfish. Actually the number of fish to be kept in the aquarium is influenced by four factors:
• The size of the angelfish
• In how many days the water of the tank is changed
• What is the quantity of water you change
• The quantity of food fed
The next question is about the temperature of the water. Normally angelfish want the temperature to be on the warmer side. The temperature of the water greatly affects the angelfish, if it is not according to the angelfish; they may get stressed and even fall ill. Usually, the temperature should be ranging between 78 degrees to 84 degrees Fahrenheit. Angelfish remain happy and even breed well, if provided with this temperature.
Another very important thing to be kept in mind is the pH balance of the water. pH balance of the water is the amount of acid or alkaline present in the water which can be tested with the help of a meter, paper strips or special test kit. The perfect pH balance which suits angelfish is 6.5 to 7. As they basically belong to the Amazon River, freshwater angelfish like their water to be bit acidic. If the acidic level of the water exceeds this mark, your fish may die.
The angelfish also want their water to be slightly salty or the water should be little bit hard. The presence of calcium and magnesium in water describes the hardness of the water that can be measured with a test kit. The hardness ranging from 2 to 10 degrees suits an angelfish.
By now, you must have understood the needs of your freshwater angelfish. Now help them grow and with your love and care win them.
