Procedures and Requirements For MCSA Certification

MCSA can be said as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator. This certification was launched recently during the year 2002 and it is considered as one of the most important certifications that are required to the candidates who wanted to choose their career in information technology field. MCSA certification is a mid level certification to the candidates who have at least 12 months experience in the field of network operating system, desktop operating system as well as inherent network infrastructure.

Hence, this means that candidates who are going to start with this certification should concentrate on MCSA windows 2003 server alone. Almost majority of the MCSA track has got two specializations which provide the candidates to have their better career option and they are:

1) MCSA security in windows 2000 or 2003 server
2) MCSA messaging in windows 2000 or 2003 server.

MCSA certification requires 5 examinations to be passed. However, candidates are required to pass in total of four exams and an elective exam as well. In rare cases, candidates can make use of third party credentials such as CompTIA and MCDST as elective exam. Exams may costs up to 125 USD per exam which are subject to change and it is not a compulsory issue that upgrade is required after successfully certified. Candidates who have failed in their previous attempt can retake their examination after 24 hours stand down time.
