As you drive your car, anything that comes along the way is likely to make your dog bark more and more. It can be just anything from houses, other cars or even any passerby.
The fact is that driving along with your barking dog can really be a problem for you. You may find it quite difficult to concentrate on your driving. This is because your mind is disturbed at your dog's continuous barking. The result is that you feel fed up and yell at your dog for his crazy behavior.
So, if at any point of time, you do face such problem, there is no need to worry. We have quite simple techniques that can prove to be of immense help in controlling your dog from behaving in such a manner. As a result, you can concentrate on your driving and feel relaxed.
Here are some useful training techniques to help you while you are out in a car with your dog:
1. The first and most important thing to be kept in mind to relax your dog who is barking continuously is to try and become a role model for your dog. This is quite simple. Just play some soft and cool music so that you can feel calm while your dog is barking. You can make him calm by caressing his head and speak to him softly. You will be surprised to see the result.
2. Another good way to train your dog to stay calm while you are driving your car is to carry a water bottle. Believe it or not, this is very useful to make him stop barking. You just need to sprinkle water quickly on him as soon as he starts barking. As you throw water on your barking dog, you must also command your dog to stop barking and sit quietly. After a while, you can just start commanding your dog instead of spraying water on him to make him quiet.
3. Here is yet another good way to help you while you are driving and feeling stuck with your dog's barking. This is by using a crate in your car for your dog whenever you take your dog along with you. Although, it may sound amazing to many, however, the fact is that this is really useful for making your dog stay quiet in a moving car.
Just make sure to select a crate in which your dog can easily fit and also make it a point to get a crate that limits the visibility outside so that the dog sees less of the action taking place outside.
These are some techniques to help you make your dog quiet while you concentrate fully on your driving and relax.
