Finger painting is lots of fun for kids. They enjoy the feel of the paint and the freedom to get messy and create! These craft ideas are a great sensory and artistic way for toddlers to express themselves. Below are a couple easy Fall/Autumn ideas!
Finger Paint Leaf Prints
Children will observe the different shapes, sizes, and patterns of leaves as they create leaf prints.
What you need:
- Assortment of leaves
- Finger paint
- Newspaper
- White paper
Directions: Go outside and collect a wide assortment of leaves. Show children how they can use their fingers to spread a thin layer of paint on the bumpy side of their leaves. Put leaves, paint-side down, on white paper, place newspaper pages over them, and press to make prints.
Finger Paint Fall Tree
This is an easy and fun fall project that your preschooler will love.
What you need:
- Brown, green, orange, yellow and red finger paint
- White construction paper
- Paint brush
Directions: Paint your child's forearm and hand with brown paint. Have them place their hand, with fingers spread wide, in the center of the paper. This will print the tree trunk and branches. Wipe hand and arm clean. Leaves can be made by either dipping the child's fingers into the green, yellow, orange or red paint and printing them onto the branches. You can also paint the whole hand and press onto the branches with the fingers pointing outwards. Once the tree has the fullness you like, dip fingertips in the paint to make the leaves on the ground.
