CCNP certification exam:

For obtaining CCNP certification, candidate has to hold the CCNA certificate. This is the foremost eligibility for the CCNP certification exam. For the CCNP examination point of view, Cisco offers two levels to the candidates. One level consists of four examinations and other level consists of three examinations.

Level 1:

1) BSCI (building scalable Cisco internetworks) or 642-901 BSCI
2) ONT (optimizing converged Cisco networks) or 642-845 ONT
3) ISCW (implementing secured converged wide area networks) or 642-825 ISCW
4) BCMSN (building Cisco multilayer switched networks) or 642-812 BCMSN.

Level 2:

1) BSCI and BCMSN combined examination which is of 2 hours examination (642-892 composite)
2) ISCW (implementing secured converged wide area networks) or 642-825 ISCW
3) ONT (optimizing converged Cisco networks) or 642-845 ONT

The only difference between these two exams is that in the level 2 examination, there are two exams combined. Candidates can opt for any one level in order to obtain the CCNP certification. Candidates have to make a note that there is a fee for applying to this certification. Level 1 exam costs higher than that of level 2 exams as it consists of 4 examinations. Candidates have to work hard and take more time in applying to these level 2 examinations.

CCNP certification examination can be taken in any Pearson VUE test center or in prometric test center. The certificate is valid for 3 years and after that recertification is necessary in order to remain qualified.
